How Was your Summer?

Welcome to School Year 2022 – 2023!

We hope that everyone had a pleasant and restful summer, and a joyful first week of school.

POPDHH continues to provide educational consultation, programming and support for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing all over British Columbia. We are available to connect in person, virtually, or by phone.  To refer your student, complete an Online Consultation Request.

ASL Programs and Services – The Fall round will kick off on the week of October 3rd. We will continue with our popular offerings for students, such as  ASL Games, ASL Play, and ASL Peer Chat, as well as the highly requested ASL Credit course for students. Details and registration will be provided next week.
The ASL Staff Appreciation Class will be coming in the Spring 2023.


Lunch and Learn Thursdays – By popular demand, we will continue our monthly webinar series for TDHHs and other Deaf Education Professionals, as well as our community partners, parents and anyone else interested to learn. Save the Dates: October 6th and 13th at noon – Understanding Psychological Safety: Stories and Tools – a two part Deaf IBPOC presentation in collaboration with KPMG. More details coming soon; registration is open.


Journal Club – POPDHH will continue to host the quarterly  discussions about current research. Dates and topics will be announced soon.


TDHH Mentorship; TDHH Induction and Retention; Online Training for Support Staff –
TDHH Mentorship – 2022-2024 cohort will start on September 28h with a two day in-person session in Kelowna. The brand new Induction and Retention group will also meet – virtually – this month.
Online Training for Educators supporting DHH students – A province-wide online event is taking place on October 21st.  More details below!
