British Columbia Deaf Education Committee (BCDEC)

BCDEC is the gateway for determining a student’s eligibility to enter the BC Provincial School for the Deaf or the Provincial Oral Program.

BCSD offers students who are eligible a learning and social environment that allows them to access information in the way that best meets their needs. Students attending BCSD also have the opportunity to build friendships with peers who are similar to them and potentially forge lifelong relationships.

All applications for these programs will be carefully reviewed by BCDEC before a decision is made.

**Please note that the contact info and schedule of meeting dates have changed. The purpose of BCDEC and referral process are not affected by this transition.

Next BCDEC meeting: June 17th, 2021

Upcoming BCDEC meetings:

  • September 2021 – June 2022 meetings to be scheduled.
