To commemorate Truth and Reconciliation Week (September 25th – 30th), POPDHH collaborated with Indigenous representatives to demonstrate sign names for 10 Indigenous communities in BC. If you know sign names for Indigenous  communities that are not included in our video, please send them to office@popdhh.ca so we can expand on this resource.

Our ASL adaptation of the Orange Shirt Story by Phyllis Webstad explains the origin of Orange Shirt Day, and the importance of truth and reconciliation, in accessible and child-friendly language.

POPDHH would like to acknowledge and thank the Coast Salish of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish, Syilx people and lək̓ʷəŋən, Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, on whose Territory we work, learn and grow.
