What has POPDHH been up to?

New POPDHH Brochure

We are pleased to launch a brand new brochure for our program. You can download it here, or let us know if you wish to receive hard copies from us.

Our team has grown over the past year! With the addition of a full time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Okanagan, a full time ASL Specialist, and our Speech-Language Pathologist being back from leave, we have been working on expanding our programs and services. If you have an idea for a new program or a special request please let us know!  We have more flexibility to provide program development, language assessments and Deaf mentorship for students, as well as professional development for TDHHs and educational teams.

POPDHH Visits to Communities

In late September, John and Alana visited Williams Lake, to meet with the teachers and parents of the students on our caseload. John also presented an ASL workshop on comprehension skills.
In October, our team visited Kelowna and Gold River to meet with their colleagues, students and families from these communities.
Earlier this month, Tamara was appreciated the invitation to meet with the Coordinated Hearing and Education Services in Victoria, a local committee of the TDHHs from School Districts 61, 62, 63 and 64, and Hearing Clinic representatives.
